School 2.0 Reflection Tool NETS-T 5

The NETS-T that I investigated was Standard 4, which states promote and model digital citizenship and responsibility. The website I checked out was a free technology toolkit for UDL (Universal Design for learning) in classrooms. It is an awesome sight that has a wealth of information on different subject such as math, writing , reading and research. In a nutshell it is a website that complies a variety of different websites that can be used a supplement in education. For example, one of the writing links is a spelling website were students can type in their vocabulary words and get tested on them online just like they would in class. In fact the website speaks the word and then uses it in a sentence, and then the test taker is expected to write spell out the word. It's like a mock spelling test. Another cool thing I found in the research section was a program called Evernote, which is a program much like delicious website that helps organize one's research. The only thing is it appears you have to have Mac to use the program. I can see both of these particular programs implemented in a classroom setting to help students learn the material at hand through the use of technology. I also think it will help expose the students to technology and the internet and help show them what it has to offer.

This was an activity that I did to learn more about the NETS-T standards and learn how I could implement them in the classroom.
